— Why It Matters

A neglected WordPress site is a slow-motion problem waiting to become a fast one.

Most sites don't fail. They slowly degrade.

It's rarely a dramatic crash. It's a plugin that stopped getting updates six months ago and now has a known exploit. It's Core Web Vitals that were good at launch but slipped as plugins accumulated. It's a form that quietly stopped sending submissions. It's a Google Analytics setup that lost its events after a theme update.

None of these announce themselves. They accumulate. And by the time someone notices — a lead dropped off, rankings slipped, the site looks dated — months of decay have already happened.

A care plan isn't defensive spending. It's what Phase 04 of our Method actually looks like in practice: we stay in the work, we keep the site performing, and we handle the small things before they become big ones.

— What's Included

Every care plan covers all of this.

No per-task billing, no "that's extra" surprises on routine maintenance. The plan covers the work below — plan tier determines response time and added services.

/01

Weekly backups

Off-site backups on a weekly cadence. Files + database. Retained so we can roll back to a clean state if needed.

/02

Core, plugin & theme updates

WordPress core, plugins, and themes kept current — reviewed before applying, tested after. Not auto-clicked and forgotten.

/03

Security monitoring

Active monitoring for known vulnerabilities, unauthorized file changes, and login anomalies. We're watching so you don't have to.

/04

Malware scanning

Regular scans for injected code, backdoors, and spam links. Caught early, these are a cleanup job. Caught late, they're a crisis.

/05

Performance audits (monthly)

Core Web Vitals review and a written summary of what changed. Flagged issues get addressed in the same cycle where possible.

/06

Small change requests

Copy updates, photo swaps, new team member, adjusted hours — included in Care · Plus and Care · Pro. No ticket minimums, no billing friction.

/07

Uptime monitoring

We're notified the moment your site goes down — not when you email us three hours later. Fast detection, fast response.

/08

SSL renewals handled

SSL certificates managed and renewed before they expire. One fewer thing to track, and no embarrassing "not secure" browser warnings.

/09

GA4 monitoring

We verify your analytics are firing correctly each month. Broken events and tracking gaps get flagged in the monthly health report.

/10

Monthly health report

A plain-language summary of what happened, what was done, and what to watch. Not a dashboard screenshot — a real read-out.

— Plan Tiers

Three tiers. One clear decision.

Pick the level of coverage that fits where your site is right now. You can move between plans as your needs change — no penalty, no long-term lock-in.

— Frequently Asked

The questions we get most.

Q.01

Do I need a care plan?

Not every site does — a static brochure site with low traffic is a different risk profile than a lead-generating site for an active business. But any WordPress site exposed to the web is exposed to bots, plugin vulnerabilities, and slow decay. The question is whether you want to handle it yourself or have someone watching it.

Q.02

What happens if I cancel?

We give you a clean handoff: a backup of the current state, a plain-language summary of what's installed and why, and documentation for your next maintainer. No lock-in, no penalty, no hostage-taking.

Q.03

Do you maintain sites you didn't build?

Yes, with a one-time audit first. We need to understand what we're inheriting — the plugins in use, the theme's construction, any existing technical debt — before we commit to maintaining it. If the foundation is solid, we take it on. If there are issues, we'll tell you what they are before we proceed.

Q.04

What counts as a "small change"?

Updating copy on a page, swapping an image, adding a team member, adjusting your hours or phone number, fixing a typo — anything under 30 minutes that doesn't require a redesign or new functionality. Care · Plus and Care · Pro include a pool of these each month. If a request is bigger, we'll tell you before we start and quote it separately.

Q.05

How do I request changes?

Email. A dedicated address goes to Terry directly — not a ticket system, not a help desk. For Care · Pro clients we also offer a shared Notion or Google Doc as a running change log if that's easier.

Q.06

What's the response time?

Security incidents and site-down situations: within 24 hours on any plan, same-day for Care · Pro. Change requests: within 3 business days for Care · Basic, within 2 for Care · Plus, next business day for Care · Pro.

Q.07

What if my site goes down?

We get alerted via uptime monitoring and start diagnosing immediately. Most downtime issues are hosting or DNS — resolved without the client needing to do anything. If it's something more serious, we communicate what's happening and what we're doing while we fix it.

Q.08

Can I upgrade or downgrade plans?

Yes, at the start of any billing month. No forms, no waiting period — just email us. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect the following cycle.

— Ready for a care plan?

Let's talk about your site.

Whether you're coming off a build with us or inheriting something you want properly cared for — a 30-minute conversation is the right first step. No pitch, no pressure to upgrade. Just an honest look at what your site needs.

— Or, quietly:

Send us your current site.

Not ready to talk? Send us your URL. We'll review the maintenance posture — plugin ages, backup status, Core Web Vitals, security flags — and send back a plain-language summary. Usually within 3 business days. No follow-up sequence.
