— Why the Order Matters

Marketing on top of a broken site is an expensive way to find out your site doesn't work.

Most businesses start marketing before the site is ready.

The standard agency pitch: let us run ads, let us do SEO, let us send you traffic. What rarely gets said is that traffic landing on a slow, unclear site with no real conversion architecture mostly just bounces. You pay for the traffic; the site wastes it.

The order matters. Design first — a site that loads fast, communicates clearly, and has a real path to contact. Then marketing. When traffic arrives on a site built to convert, every dollar of marketing spend works harder.

This is why we don't push marketing from day one. We build the site. We get it performing. Then, when you're ready, we bring in the Salterra side of the partnership — the 10+ years of SEO, paid search, and content work — and layer it on top of a foundation that's ready for it.

— What's Included

The full Salterra marketing stack.

What the partnership brings to clients who are ready to grow traffic — after the web design foundation is in place.

/01

SEO audits + keyword strategy

A full technical and content audit, followed by a prioritized keyword map tied to real search intent — not just volume.

/02

On-page SEO implementation

Title tags, meta descriptions, heading hierarchy, internal linking structure, schema markup — implemented, not just recommended.

/03

Content strategy + writing

An editorial calendar grounded in search data and topical authority. We write it or we direct your team. Both work.

/04

Local SEO + Google Business Profile

GBP optimization, citation building, local schema, review management guidance. The local pack is still the most valuable real estate for service businesses.

/05

Paid search (Google Ads + Bing)

Campaign architecture, ad copy, bid strategy, and landing page alignment. We don't run ads to pages that aren't built to convert them.

/06

Meta ads

Facebook and Instagram campaigns — awareness, retargeting, and lead gen depending on where your business is in its growth cycle.

/07

Monthly reporting

Plain-language reporting — what happened, what moved, what we're doing next month. Not a dashboard screenshot with no context.

/08

Conversion tracking + GA4 events

Every meaningful action on the site tracked: form submits, click-to-call, consult bookings, quote requests. So we know what's working.

/09

Link building (white-hat)

Editorial outreach, local citations, industry directories — links that are worth having, not links that will cost you later.

/10

Competitor monitoring

We watch what competitors are ranking for and spending on so we can find gaps, adjust strategy, and stay ahead of shifts in your market.

— What Salterra Brings

Four disciplines. One integrated partnership.

Each of these gets layered on top of the web design work — not pushed as a separate sale, but introduced when the site is built to receive them.

— Salterra / 01

Local SEO

Google Business Profile optimization, local citation building, local schema markup, and review strategy. For service businesses in Tucson (and across the markets we serve), local SEO is the fastest path to qualified leads. Salterra layers this directly onto the web design foundation we build — the site and the local presence working as a single system.

Organic SEO

Technical SEO, content depth, and white-hat link building. The strategy is topical authority — building the kind of site that earns rankings by being genuinely useful and well-organized, not by gaming short-term signals. The custom WordPress builds we deliver are already structured for this. Salterra executes the content and link strategy on top.

Paid Search

Google Ads, Bing Ads, and Meta ads — campaign architecture, ad copy, landing page alignment, and conversion tracking. We don't run paid traffic to pages that aren't built for it. The paid search work and the web design work share the same conversion logic: clear offers, clean paths to contact, no friction.

Content Strategy

An editorial calendar built from keyword research and topical gap analysis, not guesswork. Blog posts, pillar pages, service-area content — written to rank and written to convert. For clients who want help writing, we write it. For clients who want to write their own, we direct the strategy and optimize what comes back.

— Frequently Asked

The questions we get most.

Q.01

Why bundle internet marketing with web design?

Because marketing on top of a slow, poorly structured site is expensive. Traffic you send to a site that doesn't convert is wasted. Getting the site right first — design, speed, conversion architecture — means every marketing dollar works harder. The integration also means the people who built the site are coordinating with the people doing the SEO. Less handoff friction, cleaner execution.

Q.02

Do I have to use Salterra for marketing?

No. We build the site to be a clean foundation regardless of who handles marketing afterward. The Salterra partnership exists for clients who want a single point of accountability from design through growth. If you have an existing marketing agency you trust and want to keep, we build cleanly and document everything they'll need to take over.

Q.03

How is this different from a dedicated SEO agency?

The main difference is the starting point. Most SEO agencies inherit whatever site exists and work around its limitations. Salterra — through this partnership — works on sites that were built with SEO in mind from the beginning: clean code, correct schema, semantic structure, fast load times. The marketing work has a better foundation to build on.

Q.04

When is the right time to start?

When the site is ready to convert what you send it. A site with unclear CTAs, slow load times, and weak content won't convert paid traffic or organic visitors. We typically introduce the marketing conversation during Phase 03 (Built) so the launch and the marketing strategy are aligned from day one.

Q.05

What does marketing through this partnership cost?

It depends on scope — local SEO for a single-location service business looks different from a paid search program across multiple service lines. We talk through what makes sense before quoting anything. No bundled packages where you're paying for things you don't need.

Q.06

Do you guarantee rankings?

No — and any agency that does should be pressed on exactly what they're guaranteeing. Rankings depend on competitive landscape, content quality, domain history, and algorithm changes that no one controls. What we can give you is a clear strategy, the honest assessment of what's achievable in your market, and transparent reporting on what's happening.

Q.07

Are there long-term contracts?

SEO takes time to compound — we'd be lying if we said you'd see meaningful organic movement in 30 days. So there's a minimum engagement period we'll talk through honestly. But we don't lock clients into multi-year contracts they can't get out of. If we're not delivering, you should be able to leave.

Q.08

How are results reported?

Monthly — in plain language. Rankings, traffic, conversions, what moved, what we're doing next. Not a dashboard dump. Not vanity metrics. The report covers what matters to your business and what we're doing about it.

— Ready to grow?

Let's talk about what comes next.

Whether you're mid-build or post-launch, a 30-minute conversation is the right first step. We'll be honest about whether your site is ready for marketing and what kind of marketing makes sense for your business.

— Or, quietly:

Send us your current site.

Not ready to talk? Send us your URL. We'll audit the site from a marketing readiness standpoint — conversion architecture, SEO foundation, local signals, page speed — and send back a plain-language summary. Usually within 3 business days. No follow-up sequence.
